Shirt
Etoiles Frissons shirts are built to last & will improve with each wear.
Shirts should be washed and pressed after each wear. Fill a large bowl with clean, lukewarm water. Remove collar stays from your shirt and dip only the collar and cuffs in the water, Lift the shirt out of the water and lather the collar and cuffs with quality bar or liquid soap, rubbing the fabric with a soft brush. Set the soap treated collar and cuffs aside for a few hours. Then, wash the shirt inside out on a Permanent Press cycle. Cold water, regular detergent, If you can, avoid aggressive stain removers. low-speed spin cycle. Do not dry your shirt in a dryer the steel drum can cause damage over time. Hang briefly to dry on a hanger with the collar turned up. Your shirt should be damp when pressed with a very hot iron with plenty of steam. If it has fully dried, spray with water. Hang your shirt with a few front buttons done up at the collar and halfway down to insure the shirt hangs securely.
Iron in this order: start with the collar, then cuffs, sleeves, yoke, front panels and finish with the back.
Pay special attention to ironing the collar, starting at the tip and moving to the center at the back of the collar. Ironing the collar from tips to the center is the best way to maintain its look. Do it the other way, and it could result in wrinkles at the tips.
When you are done, button your shirt onto wooden hangers, which prevent stretching and keep the shirt in its best shape. Place hangers at least an inch apart so the cotton can breathe, ready to be worn again.
Underarm stains are often caused by the reaction between anti-perspirant ingredients and the salts in sweat. The aluminum causes a build-up and yellowing on the fabric after continuous wear. To best avoid these stains try switching to an aluminum-free deodorant or a deodorant with minimal aluminum. After applying deodorant, allow it to dry before putting your shirt on to prevent rub-off on the fabric.
Suit
To avoid general wear and tear to preserve your suit’s longevity, pockets, lapels and collars should be brushed frequently to remove dirt. Stains should be blotted immediately and not rubbed. After each wear, allow your suit to rest; wearing the same suit for two days in succession can cause damage to the fibers. To help maintain the shape of your suit always hang your jacket on an appropriate hanger that supports the shoulders (hanger provided) always hang your trousers vertically. Avoid placing items in your pockets as this will put strain on the seams. Unbutton your suit jacket before you sit down to avoid pulling. Store your suit in a breathable garment bag for protection (Provided) install a small moth proofing sachet in the suit bag to prevent moths. “Sponge & Press” Service to clean your suits only when really needed, once every six months should suffice unless there are any stains that need taking care of, excessive dry cleaning chemicals will wear away the cloth and can reduce the life of a suit. Industrial press will ruin the curves in the shoulders, chest canvas or lapels turning your suit two dimensional.
